One Door To Heaven

The truly good news is that this same loving and just God gives everyone on earth a second chance to escape punishment. God sent His only Son, Jesus, to earth more than 2,000 years ago. That life Jesus lived on earth33 yearsallowed Him to experience the same pain and loneliness you have felt. The ultimate purpose for Jesus' life on earth, however, was so that He could give it up.

By dying on the cross, Jesus took upon Himself the punishment necessary to pardon your sins. Even though Jesus was without sin and perfect like His Father, He became a man by living on earth.

Jesus both God and man lived a perfect life, dying willingly on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, was raised from the dead, and now lives in heaven. An innocent man took the blame for our sinfulness. This act of God is described in John 3:16-17 like this: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

Jesus' death on the cross erased our sins and removed the one barrier separating us from a relationship with Him. His sacrifice of life makes it possible for us to be saved from the punishment of our own sinfulness. Romans 5:8 states: "God demonstrates His own love toward us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

This is how a loving and just God dealt with the problem of our sin. He provided the one and only way to heaven, through belief and trust in God's Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." You must receive Him in order to live in heaven after you die. There is no exception.
